The National Institute for Development (NIDRAS) was founded in 1996 on the initiative of the corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Glazev and Dr. M.
Gelvanovsky. It was founded by the Institute of the Economy of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Institute of Mathematical Models of Economy of RAS, Institute of Economic Prognostication of RAS and
some other academic establishments. Academic community asked scientists of NIDRAS to articulate an idea,
which would unify all groups of Russian society and would help Russia to develop stably and progressively. The scientists of NIDRAS found out that this unifying idea, the task, uniting Russian society is
to reassure its competitive ability under the conditions of globalization. The primary task of NIDRAS today – to conduct interdisciplinary research of social and economic problems of the
Russian Federation in order to establish it's national strategy of positive national development.
